What is SUP?
As well as being a fun greeting for your friends, SUP is an acronym for Stand Up Paddleboarding. It’s a water sport that has been gaining masses of popularity in recent years, but it can be traced back to the Hawaiian surfing scene of the 1940’s. It’s one of the most enjoyable and accessible water sports around!
You can find a SUP board for any occasion: stretch out on a yoga SUP to relax or go for an adrenaline-filled adventure with a white-water SUP. Whether you prefer a chilled out flatwater paddle, or an exciting journey on the sea waves, you’ll find a SUP style that suits your needs.
In recent years, more and more people have been turning to SUP for a fun and invigorating workout. Stand Up Paddleboarding is a hobby that can be practiced in a variety of different intensities. Rather than cramming into an overcrowded gym where you have to wait for different equipment, using a SUP for a workout offers a more tranquil experience. Rather than staring at a grey wall whilst you get your reps in, why not immerse yourself in nature? SUP can be enjoyed pretty much anywhere you find water: canals, lakes, rivers, or the ocean. They all have different requirements, so check out our other FAQs for more information on where you can take your SUP adventure!
